Thanasis Scaltsoyiannes received his Diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2013 from Εngineering Faculty of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc on Chemistry and Technology of Polymers in 2015 from Chemistry Department. He continued his post-graduate studies receiving a MEng in 2017 from Chemical Engineering Department of the same institute. Since then he is a PhD student under the supervision of Professor Angeliki Lemonidou in the Laboratory of Petrochemical Technology of the Chemical Engineering Department. The title of his PhD thesis is “Thermochemical energy storage via calcium looping using CaO-based CO2 sorbents: development of materials and reactors”. His research focuses on the kinetic study and modeling of CaL reactions, as well as the reactor design and development of CaO-based CO2 sorbents with high sorption capacity and stability of performance.
